Description

Hubert de Givenchy opened his atelier at the age of 25 in 1952 and quickly proved that he was a master

I believe this is from the Galliano era and is a wonderful example of how he could be pretty and romantic while executing a sharply cut design

Item# D468

A curving design is made of blue and silver-blue metallic thread made into a cut work applique that is then sewn onto a nude netting

It is completely cut on the bias over the inner lining so drapes and moves to fit you perfectly from the second you slip it on

1970s Victor Costa Black Full Skirted Dotted Net & Velvet Bow Dress designer-karl-lagerfeld Hubert de Givenchy opened hisThis is a very eye catching dress by Victor Costa. The dress combines a soft black velvet with a dotted net fabric and I love these two fabrics work together. It has a princess length skirt that is quite full. This is created by placing the net fabric over an inner layer of black rayon taffeta. The volume primarily comes from the netting and how that is been inserted in and around the waist seam. In real life it feels even fuller then how it photoed.
