The seams are covered with gold trim and, except for the sides, are embellished with red and green jewels. (These colored gems are not found on the London version of the costume, which use more ornate gold braid for the vertical decorations.) Normally, there are beaded strands that drape around the shoulders, but these are missing, most likely removed when the costume was put into storage
