The Cure - Boys don?t cry (12-inch maxi-single) Gal Costa the first time the band'Boys Don't Cry' came out in 1979 as The Cure's second single and became one of the best known songs of the band's early work. In 1986 Robert Smith recorded a new vocal for it and the track was remixed; that version, the 86 Mix, finally gave the song the chart placing the original had missed. Around it sit the longer 12 inch mix and three early B sides: 'Plastic Passion' in its 1979 mix, and 'Pillbox Tales' and 'Do the Hansa' in their 86 mixes. Matt
