This required major modifications to the engine bay and the front suspension was modified to incorporate torsion bars rather than the MGB’s coil springs

the car replaced the MGA and was MG’s first foray into the now-common monocoque construction

The MGA was produced in Abingdon, England from 1955 and 1962 and replaced the MG TF 1500 Midget. More than 100,000 MGAs were sold with the majority being exported.
